New Year, New Trends or New Year, Same Trends.

After a busy start to the year, I thought I would come on here and tell you what trends we are seeing into 2023.

Natural Flooring is 100% becoming the new trend, from Wood flooring and Sisal to Cork Flooring. We are getting increased enquires for all of them. Our customers are realising the effects of plastic and other raw materials affecting us all on a daily basis either at home, in the supermarkets or filling up our vehicles. Wood flooring can last up to 100 years if looked after and maintained correctly, so not only is it natural but its very sustainable too.

Carpets are very much continuing on from 2022, super soft piled carpets are still the most popular carpet we sell day to day. But we are seeing the 'natural' trend coming through to the carpets, with people wanting 80/20 wool carpets for longevity and for the natural aspect. Or even 100% wool loop carpets which are becoming popular for their soft feel, being natural, and hard wearing, so it ticks all the boxes.

Luxury Vinyl Tiles, the trend that just keeps growing and showing no sign of stopping. From Amtico and Karndean, to Moduleo and Harvey Maria or our very own brand of Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT). The designs, Tiles, Planks and Parquet options are endless, so the customers can really choose anything they want with the knowing it’s a very hard-wearing floor that requires little maintenance, and has a very long warranty, sometimes life time. What more could you want from a floor?

Stair runners are increasing in demand. Whether its sisal with fabric binding, a standard carpet that’s been templated and bound, or a flatweave runner which comes in all different colours and patterns. Crucial Trading, Alternative Flooring and Fibre Flooring are sisals that can have the fabric binding to really give the wow factor. Any carpet can be bound to give you the look of a stair runner if you want something more practical. Then there’s the flatweave runner. Flatweave runners are made from 100% wool and made in a traditional way in an old mill.
